Reticulation
The reticulating effect of the light takes various forms in these images. In one the painterly overlaying of shadow across a window blind generates a graphic tonal composition that also makes legible the fine grid of the cloth. Elsewhere light and shade exaggerate the irregularities of a poured concrete wall, allowing the tiniest spurs and serrations to throw micro mountainscapes across the textured grey surface.
