Metamorphosis
Autumn’s character is reflective. It is a
period of transition, when the concept
of growth has different connotations
and resonance. In October 2023, an
extraordinary short film was made of the
Wooden Chapel on the edge of woodland
in southern Germany, whose elemental
mass has been slowly weathering for the
past seven years. The piece is experienced
as a sequence of meditative inward breaths
and exhalations, as the focus gradually
closes in and recedes, the emphasis shifting
quietly between the visual and the aural.
