‘A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the mind as well as the body.’ Benjamin Franklin
When John and Catherine embarked on an all-encompassing renovation of their ‘disordered farmyard’ in Oxfordshire, it was with the idea of creating a gathering place that would draw on the richness of their own experiences, as children and as adults, in the houses and at the tables of family and friends.
Published at the beginning of April, at the core of Home Farm Cooking is a collection of recipes, accumulated over time and ordered by season, that have become the staples of the Pawson kitchen. The book is also a personal record of a broader approach to cooking, eating and living that goes to the essence of what it means to feel at home.
