Green spaces in urban contexts carry a powerful charge. In Lisbon the park surrounding the Gulbenkian Museum allows the angular geometry of the fixed concrete forms to read against the organic plasticity of trees, shrubs and water. Each provides a measure of scale for the other and a means of registering colour and texture that is both graphic and sensuously intimate.
