Eternal impermanence

Fluid and infinitely plastic, sand is a material
without permanent form. Driven, shifted
and sculpted by the wind and animated
by the eternal play of light and shadow,
its surface briefly holds traces of successive
feet and vehicles, like the fleeting wakes
of boats on water and vapour trails across
the sky.
