The narrative of some projects unexpectedly stretches over many years. The intention may be unfaltering and the architectural vision clear, but a concatenation of circumstances slows the process. In the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy, work is finally nearing completion on two houses for a brother and sister, on a site freighted with family history and memories.
