A grid of nine squares
Neuendorf House is essentially a cube
within a cube, creating positive and
negative spaces, voids and volumes.
The composition is planned on a grid of
nine squares, contained within massive
walls and entered through a slit in the
wall that rises the full height of the house.
Inside the outer wall, four of the nine
squares are left empty, creating a
courtyard that is open to the sky,
with the other five squares forming
the two wings of accommodation.
Neuendorf House was completed in 1989
