Thresholds

At the turning of another year and following months of preparatory site work, construction begins in Gloucestershire. These photographs record the point of suggestive stillness that precedes the narrative of transformation. The old life of the buildings has been meticulously excised. What remains is not so much a melancholic emptiness, as a condition of clarity — of surface, volume and structure — that points forwards, to what comes next.
