Fixing things is in the nature of still photography. Sometimes a quality of stasis is inherent within a subject, but in these photographs of sky and water, each frozen image is bookended by endless flux, the lens of the camera rendering the evanescent patterns of seafoam, cloud, and sunlight no less permanent than the textured faces of rock and headland.
