‘Aesthetic emotion in the atmosphere’ Luis Barrágan

There is a phenomenon at the Life House to which the photographs can only allude. It is the way the colours of the interior surfaces seem to leach into the air, like an ethereal mist, reciprocating the rich environmental conditions that regularly wrap the house. This impression is particularly pronounced in the main living space, where the atmosphere acquires a distinctive pink cast, as the light reflects and refracts off the timber, polished concrete and transparent planes.
