A walk across the water after dark

Visual simplicity is a defining characteristic of the Sackler Crossing. The visible components of the design are reduced to a simple repeating sequence of vertical bronze balusters and black granite treads, with lights set flush into the deck maintaining this structural legibility after dark. On selected dates between 28 November and 4 January, it will be possible to experience the Sackler Crossing after sunset, as part of a mile-long illuminated trail through Kew’s winter landscapes.
